By downloading, installing, or using the Cadenza Mac application or visiting the cadenzapp.com website, you agree to these terms.
1. Beta software
Cadenza is currently in private beta. The software is provided as-is, with no warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of transcriptions or summaries, or freedom from defects.
You acknowledge that:
- AI-generated transcripts and summaries can contain errors.
- The app may change in incompatible ways between versions.
- Beta features may be removed without notice.
2. Recording legality
You are solely responsible for the legality of recording any conversation in your jurisdiction. Recording laws vary widely:
- Some jurisdictions require all parties to consent.
- Some require only one party to consent.
- Some have additional rules for workplace, educational, or healthcare contexts.
- Cross-border calls may be subject to multiple jurisdictions simultaneously.
Cadenza provides recording functionality; it does not provide legal advice. Before using Cadenza in any meeting, ensure you have the consent and authority required by the applicable law. The author of Cadenza accepts no responsibility for unlawful recordings made with the app.
3. Acceptable use
You may not use Cadenza:
- To record conversations without the legally required consent.
- To facilitate harassment, stalking, or other unlawful activity.
- To extract data from third-party services in a manner that violates that service’s own terms.
- To reverse-engineer the application binary or attempt to bypass any protective mechanism in the distributed software.
4. Third-party services
Cadenza integrates with several third-party services (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Notion, Zoom, MiniMax). Your use of those services is governed by each provider’s own terms and is between you and them. Cadenza does not act as an intermediary or guarantor.
5. License
The Cadenza application is distributed under the license terms specified in the LICENSE file accompanying the binary. Until that file ships, the binary may be used personally and for non-commercial evaluation.
The cadenzapp.com website’s source code is private. The compiled, deployed website is freely accessible at no cost.
